A Moment in Time: Art Exhibit

Lake Charles, LA — The Imperial Calcasieu Museum, in collaboration with the Black Heritage Gallery, is thrilled to announce A Moment in Time, a compelling collaborative art exhibit that amplifies the voices of minority artists through a stunning collection of evocative works. This exhibit delves into themes of cultural pride, emotional reflection, and the rich tapestry of experiences that define diverse artistic identities.

Opening Reception Details:
Mark your calendars for the opening reception on Friday, January 31, 2025, from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM. The reception will take place in the Annex Gallery at the Imperial Calcasieu Museum, located at 204 W. Sallier St., Lake Charles, LA 70601. This event is free and open to the public.

The Imperial Calcasieu Museum is dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich cultural heritage of Southwest Louisiana. Through dynamic exhibits, educational programs, and community partnerships, the museum fosters an appreciation for the arts, history, and culture.

About the Black Heritage Gallery:

The mission of the Black Heritage Gallery is to lead a diverse audience in discovering African American artists and to nurture artists at all stages of their careers.

The Black Heritage Gallery, a project of the Black Heritage Festival of Louisiana, opened on June 28, 2001, with a grant from the Junior League of Lake Charles, Inc. Located in Historic City Hall Arts & Cultural Center, the gallery is among the 26 initial sites on Louisiana’s African American Heritage Trail. It is the only institution dedicated to the arts and culture of African Americans in Southwest Louisiana.
