We have TWO October Mixed-Media Meetups (or M&Ms)!
October 7, 2026:
Join us for our next Lake Area Mixed Media Meetup on October 7th from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM at the Imperial Calcasieu Museum!
Mixed Media Meetup is for ALL forms of artists and artisans. Painters, illustrators, sculptors, potters, fiber artists, crocheters, knitters, woodworkers, jewelry makers, photographers, printmakers, crafters, writers, and creatives of every kind are welcome.
Bring whatever you are working on, start something new, or simply come to connect with other creative people in the Lake Area. This meetup is about bringing different artistic practices together in one space to share ideas, learn from one another, make connections, and build a stronger creative community.
No matter your medium, there is a place for you here.
Free and open to the public. All artists, artisans, makers, and creative minds are welcome.
WHAT TO BRING:Bring a current project and any supplies you’ll need to work on it. You’re also welcome to bring something you’ve finished recently and want to share with the group.
WHO CAN COME:Artists and creatives of varying experience levels are welcome. You do not have to be a professional artist or museum member to participate.
WHAT TO EXPECT:A relaxed, welcoming environment where you can work alongside other creatives, exchange ideas, ask questions, make connections, and become part of the growing Lake Area creative community.

Join us at Creative Roots on October 19 from 6–8 PM for our next off-site Lake Area Mixed Media Meetup featuring October Spotlight Artist Sadie Johnson!
Sadie is one of the four artists and best friends behind SweetHearts Tattoo Co., alongside Maggie, Madison, and Lilyan. Her colorful, whimsical tattoo work draws inspiration from anime, florals, and storytelling, with a focus on helping clients feel confident in their own skin.
Spend the evening connecting with Sadie and fellow local creatives, sharing ideas, and learning more about the artistry behind tattooing. Bring a creative project to work on or simply come enjoy the conversation!
Lake Area M&M brings together people across artistic mediums and experience levels to create, connect, and find community. Whether you’re an established artist, exploring a new hobby, or looking to meet creative people in Southwest Louisiana, you’re welcome here.
