The Imperial Calcasieu Museum is proud to host “The Black History of Mardi Gras” exhibit this festival season!
This exhibition explores the traditions, artistry, and cultural heritage of Mardi Gras within Southwest Louisiana’s Black community. The exhibit will include Mardi Gras costumes designed and created by Craig Guillory and Dolores Beaco, as well as features on local krewes and their histories. The museum will also honor board member Edwina Medearis for her significant contributions to costuming and Mardi Gras culture through Medearis Costumes.
