Branch Out Kids Summer Art Camp

Branch Out Summer Art Camps at the Imperial Calcasieu Museum offer young artists a vibrant space to create, explore and grow. Each themed week features hands-on projects, guided instruction and plenty of room for imagination — with half-day and full-day options to fit your summer schedule.

Theme: Blast from the Past

• June 8 – 12
• June 15 – 19
• June 22 – 26

Step back in time and let your creativity shine! In Blast from the Past, artists will explore fun art styles inspired by different decades—bold colors, cool patterns, and classic designs from the past. Campers will draw, paint, and build using a variety of materials while learning how artists use style, color, and design to tell stories. Every day brings a new throwback-inspired project that puts a fresh, creative spin on retro ideas.

Classes are open for students who have completed grades K through 8.

Theme: Masterpiece Mashup

• July 6 – 10
• July 13 – 17

What if famous artworks had a makeover? In Masterpiece Mashup, campers will explore well-known artists and artworks and then create their own original versions with a creative twist. Using drawing, painting, collage, and mixed media, students will mix classic art styles with their own ideas and imagination. This camp encourages creativity, problem-solving, and confidence as artists learn there’s no one right way to make art.

Classes are open for students who have completed grades K through 8.

Theme: Masterpiece Mashup: Teen Studio Week

• July 20 – 24

What if famous artworks had a makeover? In Masterpiece Mashup, campers will explore well-known artists and artworks and then create their own original versions with a creative twist. A focused studio experience for teen artists ready to refine their skills and expand their creative practice. Students will explore pyrography (wood burning), printmaking without a press, and painting, developing both technical ability and personal artistic voice.

Class is open for students ages 13 – 18.

  $225 for ICM members

After Priority Registration. Tuition increases and a camp t-shirt is not guaranteed.
